Bach performed this cantata on 30th of January 1735. The cantata is based on Martin Luthers chorale “Wär Gott nicht mit uns diese Zeit”. The score has the 4th movement, a wonderful aria for bass, two oboes and basso continuo. In this late cantata you see Bachs seasoned mastership in every little detail. The score is based on the parts of Bachs autograph.
