BWV 97 In allen meinen Taten

Late Leipzig choralcantata with unspecified designation

Complete score
Oboe 1
Oboe 2
Continuo

Bach performed this cantata for the first time in 1734. The cantata is based on Paul Flemings chorale “In allen meinen Taten”. The cantata uses every verse of his chorale exactly (“per omnes versus”) . The designation of this cantata is unclear, some musicologists claim it to be a wedding cantata (there is a correction by J.S.Bach before the 7th verse “after the marriage ceremony”). In a later transcription it is designated for the 5th Sunday after Trinity. The score has the 8th movement, an aria for soprano, two oboes and basso continuo.
