Bachs Oboe

A library of J.S.Bachs music for oboe

About

J.S.Bachs music is one of the most beautiful which is ever written for the oboe. There are some published collections of Bach arias, but mostly all of them lack some fundamental parts. They don’t have the text, no singer parts, no complete score or are otherwise incomplete (some don’t even contain BWV 82 “Ich habe genung”).

So over the years I started my own collection. Even though I’m by far not finished yet, I want to publish the finished parts for free for every oboe player. I tried to make the scores as readable as possible, many of them have been used in concert. If you find them useful, feel free to download, print and use them for your own studies or performances. I would also like to get feedback if you find errors or have suggestions regarding more parts, better layout or whatever you think will be useful for making this site a better resource for other oboe players.

The scores are based on Bachs autograph manuscripts and, when the facsimiles were not available, on the Alte Bach Ausgabe - mostly because it is in the public domain (despite its age, the Alte Bachausgabe edition is rather close to Bachs urtext and is engraved in a really beautiful layout - you can get it at the International Music Score Library Project).
