Bach performed this choralcantata for the first time on 19th of August 1725. The cantata is based on Joachim Neanders chorale with the same name “Lobe den Herren, den mächtigen König der Ehren”. The score contains the 3rd movement, a duet for soprano, bass, 2 oboes and basso continuo. It has the 3rd verse of the chorale. The score is based on Bachs autograph.
