This wonderful solo cantata for soprano, oboe and strings for the Septuagesima sunday was performed the first time on 9th of february 1727. Even though the instrumentation is comparatively simple, the music is magnificent and one of the great examples of Bachs love for the oboe.
It is one of the rare pieces where Bach actually writes “Cantata” above it. The score has the complete cantata based on Bachs autograph.
